Chevy 350 clutch actuator arm with ball from foot pedal?
Hi there. I have been fitting a rebuilt Chevy 350 C30 engine into my one ton flat-bed pick-up. The engine went right in; no problems whatsoever... EXCEPT!!! I cannot get the actuator arm for the clutch to attach to the bell housing... The thing is more than an inch too long. I have tried moving the engine, but when I get to within 1/8 of an inch of slipping the tube onto the ball, I can get no more movement. The assembley is rivited to the blooming frame, too!!! I might get at the rivits and grinding them off; but that is going to be a pain, to say the least.
Anyone with any ideas? Just as a thought... Should I take off the bell housing, refit the housing when the ball is in, or would that mess with somthing? I've never done this before, so hence my asking...
I'm working alone, so no help is available, so even if I lift the engine out again, that is, off the engine mounts, I'm still stuck with two short arms...

you may have to undo the motor mounts and lift the motor just enough to move it to the right a little to get the arm in place then lower the motor back on the mounts
