Long weekend

Hello Friends,

Hired a bunch of folks to help work the weekend wine festival and saw to their placement in our booths. Southwest Wines, (my employer) had 6 booths this year so I had a lot of running around to do while there. I don’t think I’ll be enjoying a winefest as a “guest” or regular attender ever again after seeing/doing what I’ve done this weekend. Lots of people, warm temperatures, and a whole-lotta profit for the winery.

At the same time my folks hosted a family reunion here in Albq. I had this as a great excuse to leave the winefest early when I could, and had pre-conditioned my management (and anyone else who cared) that I wouldn’t be there for the whole festival. Yesterday was particularly sweet as I was there for not more than an hour and a half prior to catching Indy 4 at the theater with my uncle Kenny. Good times, Good times. Asher spent the day and night with my father-in-law so I could work the festival, and am now looking forward to his return. Have some stuff to run around and take care of with him, so it’d be nice to get that going soon.

Jessica is spending a few days with family in East Texas this week. Kinda weird without her home, I already miss her and she left yesterday. She needed the away time and I can manage, so glad she’s having fun without Asher for the time she’s there.

God is so faithful, so amazing, so righteous and Holy yet wants a relationship with us. Spend some time with Him, he longs for intimacy with you.

I am so bad at posting, y’all should fire me. Wouldn’t be surprised if only a few o’ my peeps still check to see if I post anymore or have since the last time (march 26?-lame long ago!). I hope to do better with this here on out, don’t need another “beat-down” from my boy Chris, convicting me like he did. Asher not being a potted-plant anymore has me playing “dad” far more often than when I started this bloggity so many moons ago.
Currently swimming in this after a day on 800mg tabs of these since last Thursday afternoon. Took a great nap this afternoon (you know the type you could just keep on sleeping) and wasn’t as tired as I thought when I laid down, therefore I post. (The “Vike” has yet to make me feel super-swimmy….) Why the drugs you ask? Had my wise-teeth pulled, all four at once, and boy… I’ve never missed eating “normal” like this before. It’s worse than being sick when you can’t keep it in you or taste has no meaning. I’ve found my front-teeth are horrible at mashing, and have grown especially sick of yogurt and most other no-chew foods. Today had enchiladas from Garcia’s (not my favorite) and found it supergreat as it wasn’t too much to chew and was better than the endless yogurt/ice-cream/soft-food trip I’ve wanted to get off. Pizza tonight (since it’s been a few days) was a nice change as well, but found the mashing issue not so fun, especially with the crust. Hopefully eating returns soon in a like-normal fashion. I eat like a racehorse and this tooth-less issue has had me pretty bummed.

Riding more lately, or attempting to. Made a friend at church a few weeks back and we’ve ridden together (only once?) and plan on doing the Santa Fe or are just training for the I’ Horse. Anyhoot, it’d be great to see my other blog get updated with ride announcements and be updated as frequently (or more due to rides) than this one.

Now the Vike is causing severe drowse. Going to hit it. Next up, Albq. Wine Fest and the joy of finding a rep for Santa Fe!
