So, I’ve finally gotten around to pasting up some pictures from recent events I’ve experienced first hand. It’s hard being a super-proud dad with the cuteness I’ve been blessed with so you can’t blame me for having a number of Asher pictures here too. Here’s my drummer boy to start:
A little shaky with the shot, but still beautiful from the one-of-two good days at this years balloon fiesta:
Construction day on the patio:

One happy Asher:
My favorite from this year’s fiesta:

This one’s from a hike-up La Luz, sometime mid-August:

I tink that’s enough page-space for now… next time I’ll be more with-it and post a picture within the post it refers to, ‘ight?

Last Saturday morning I was coaxed out of the house with a plea to join my buddie Brian and other-brother Vince on a ride in the foothills. I was in process of loading dishes (gotta do my share), and didn’t want Bruce (Jessica’s dad) to be waiting on me when he arrived in 30-45min. I explained this to Brian, but he continued to pester with the promise of “you can be back home in 1/2 hour, we’ll just finish without you”. Jessica didn’t think her dad would be too-bummed if he had more Asher-time while he waited (cake!), and Brian telling me he’ll meet me in the Raley’s parking-lot nearby was the icing on the cake. SO, after getting more dishes into the d/w I sprinted into some cycling-clothes and off to ride. Brian it turned out invited more guys to join the prior evening, but even if only the three of us, climbs were desired in our time together. Being that I live just W of Tramway, I know some climbs and was happy to serve up some humble-pie while I pushed it in order to get a workout in within my 30 minute window. “The Fingers” is a common term for the residential streets that climb East of Tramway up to the city open-space. Starting at Copper and veering South was the beginning, then coming back North along various grade-changes that range from tough to really tough was the route, and I peeled off from Indian School to head home while the guys continued on up Haines, then up to Embudito, then farther North before heading to the Raley’s. My new cateye (birthday!) told me I had covered just short of 6 miles in 29 minutes of riding, with an average speed of 14mph. Good stuff on the quick. Hills are my nemesis, and often highlight my out of shape factor with a brightlighter neon yellow. So, if I can spend more time on them on my roadie, I know I’ll someday slay them with the prowess of a billy-goat on my mtn. steed. Good stuff, cyclismo!
