If you have never been, now’s the time to hike Bandalier Canyon. IT’s abso-fab beautiful, and going to get richer as the leaves turn in the next few weeks.
Just one to whet your appetite, maybe later I’ll post more from the trip.

Got my new road-shoes today, darn-tootin’ too! they feel fast, and incredibly comfortable. I didn’t have a reason to upgrade from toe-clips and the old-style cleats I’ve been using for 17 years. Sure, they fit kinda funny, were not the most comfortable, but sometimes when you have a multi-sport addiction you don’t replace things unless they break down. Well after my last ride out to Tijeras I found a gnarly split in the sole of my shoe. Like a massive crevice just above the heel, these shoes were done. I MacGyver’d a short-term fix with some gorilla (snot) glue for a fingers-jaunt with a buddy, but no-go.
Notice the broken cleat-action. Considering these lasted as long as they did, I was able to justify spending for the better product/features was a worthy investment. So into history these are cast, (check the old specialized “flag”logo, ‘member that?)
Cast you peeps at my newness.
While I was at it, clipless shoes need clipless pedals right? While I had been enjoying the Crank Brothers Eggbeaters on my mountain steed, having no real “platform” to stand on when not clipped in got bothersome, especially during climbs. On road-riding the foot-pedal connection isn’t as often a disconnect, although I bet there are some road-riders out there that “dab”, I’m not one of them. Solution: get the Crank Bros. Smarty’s for the mtn. bike, and swap out the toe-clip (makes me think of “toe-pick” from Cutting Edge) with the eggies for the road-beastie. Fun-fun, upgrades are the shizzle, especially when there is definate measureable performance enhancements in the mix. Here’s the Smarty’s.
and here’s the two steeds, with the view of their new “stirrups”.
Another Fingers route has been compiled, if your up for some punishment ala hill-climbs, I’m already leading a couple of brothers, do join! OUR RIDE IS STILL ON, BUT DIFFERENT ROUTE HAS BEEN ESTABLISHED We’ve tenatively set it for Oct 14 @ 7:30am, so if your interested reply and we’ll discuss location information private-like.

As if you were not already familiar with it, TIME FLIES when you’re busy! I’ve been to Durango/Farmington, El Paso, Roswell, Las Cruces, Silver City, and Deming, (not to mention the far corners of the Albq. area) and involved in almost too-many committees and activities, all since my last post. THIS month has flown! I didn’t even get a visit to the state fair! (and seeing the rodeo on dollar-day by itself doesn’t count!) Next weekend the Balloons get here and the fiestada begins, glad at least that’s an early morning thing, and with Asher in the house I’m up early all the time so it’s going to mesh into the do-da just fine. I know I’ve said it before, but now I’m really, really meaning it: I’m going to post more often. At least 2-times a week is my goal, and I’m going to do it. There is just too-much stuff God is doing in my life, and whispering/roaring into my ears that to not post it here would be awful.

So here’s a few from recent trips/adventures for you to enjoy. First off, most important, my Flamingo…
Then, a moment to peek at the camera while sampling semi-solid food!

Eventually I’ll have pictures adorning the template of this blog so I won’t be needing to load them into posts. But for now this will do!

Are you secure in your knowledge of the afterlife? Are you content and worry-free about what may or may not become? I’m afraid too-many “christians” will shocked to find what their “religion” did for them when they face God and have to answer to His query “what did you Do with My Son?”. It’s not about earning our ticket, we can’t pay for our way into heaven with any contribution be it monetary, being “good”, or simply sweating it by our “works”.
His Grace towards us is the only way, and go figure it’s FREE, and while we’re at it it’s about a RELATIONSHIP with Jesus, not any “man’s” religion.
Paul in his letter to the church in Rome put it this way:
23 For all have sinned; all fall short of God’s glorious standard.
24 Yet now God in his gracious kindness declares us not guilty. He has done this through Christ Jesus, who has freed us by taking away our sins.
25 For God sent Jesus to take the punishment for our sins and to satisfy God’s anger against us. We are made right with God when we believe that Jesus shed his blood, sacrificing his life for us. God was being entirely fair and just when he did not punish those who sinned in former times.
26 And he is entirely fair and just in this present time when he declares sinners to be right in his sight because they believe in Jesus.
27 Can we boast, then, that we have done anything to be accepted by God? No, because our acquittal is not based on our good deeds. It is based on our faith.
28 So we are made right with God through faith and not by obeying the law.
(Romans 3:23-28 NLT)
