Geez, I didn’t set-up this blog, purchase a domain, and ask kindly of my peep Azinicus for a wee-bit of space on his pluto-sized server to not post very often. I’m bummed too, because I really enjoyed when I could share what God had put on my heart or what has been going down in my small sphere of experiences. On the road last week up to the beautiful country, Durango, with wife and child, previous trip to Las Cruces/El Pasout, and recent pics of my lovely Asherman just aren’t getting up, nor are the “deep-thoughts” of the vertical-relationship getting “air-time”. SO having said all that, I’ll figure out (hopefully soon) to integrate blog-time into my day’s adventure, as it’d be a fitting end-stroke to the web-work I need to stay atop for my employer. Love to you my dear reader, and thank you for your patience and grace as I dial all this random-ness in. (and eventually the blog will be shiny and vamped with all sorts of cool plug-ins!)

So I figured something else out, and right before i gave up trying to do new stuff to this wordpress dealio. My blingity just got shiny-er with the importation of all my posts I wrote while using the blogger.com free-ware for my blog. SO, instead of doing the dirty, insanely time-consuming work of re-categorizing all that stuff, figure anything posted prior to August 06 came imported from the old site. Eventually I’ll have George show me how to mass-categorize if at all possible, but for now I’m leavin’ it as is, and going to sleep. Been a long day, gotta get my (yeah-right) beauty rest!

Last Weekend Jess and I were able to have a date-night! What fun, fun, fun we had without the 4-month-old. Not that my son is the issue, but getting out with the spouse has been hard the last few months, and our marriage needed the “tune-up of togetherness” (ToT) a date-night provides.
The Movie was Monster House. What fun. While the film could have probably been improved upon in a few ways, what I really appreciated was that this film had a story. The story was unpredictable and gave the characters just enough depth to be able to carry you off into their world, and how they deal with the situation this house provides. I was impressed by the work of the voice-talent, especially digging John Heder voicing a character other than Napoleon. the credits are the kind you don’t leave early, just like the X-Men episode 3 currently playing in the dollar theatre (#3 doesn’t end the series just yet…!) Extra-bonus points goes to whoever chose Siouxsie and the Banshees for the end-titles music. They are one my favorite bands from the late 80’s. As far as the film and the rest my critical assessment, go see it for yourself then we’ll talk. And catch it while it’s still in the Movieplex 2000 as it’s better on the biggest screen (a theatre, not your tv via netflix!)

Hello Dear one! Glad you could make it to my blog. I’ve had a heck-of-a-week or two and haven’t been providing you with new stuff to digest, I know, and have been properly hand-slapped for it. So don’t feel you’re alone in wishing for new posts from the Ethan-ator.
Anyhoot, back to the week o’ heck.
After being on the road the previous week, last week was really nice. I wish I didn’t travel so much, but every job has it’s down-side. I’m told that it gets easier as my subterritories outside the local area are “weaned” from my constant visits and can taper the trips back to 2-4 times a year. that I have 5 subterritories and 4 of them are at least 3-hours away. Today, for example I write from El Paso TX where I’ll spend a night and then visit accounts here and then stay in Las Cruces tomorrow night. Looking forward to when My precious agrees to travel with me more often, as having her and my Asher-man with me makes it way-more agreeable.

Hello dear reader, I mean not to post much lately. I’ve been busy with work, life, and other demands of me. I’d really like to post every other day or so, at least once a week, so if you’d hang with me I’ll be giving you mental-digestables soon. Thank you for your grace and patience!

I decided to just post here, instead of my soon to be defunct blogger weblog, with any new thoughts or impressions. I’ll be doing some tweaks to the design as I figure this deal out. Since this was important enough for me to post let me tell you about what God was sharing with us last Wednesday morning.
Do you spend “quiet-time” with God? Is it really quiet? In our busy-busy-busy and go-go-go lives the idea of spending time, real quality time, with God doesn’t seem the priority in our lives (my life) as it we should. And I only say “should” because of the immense wealth of God’s blessing He wants to shower upon those who do. Jesus is our ultimate model, as He was God in human form. As scripture records He went away, alone from His disciples, to pray, and not just pray but spend HUGE amounts of time with the Father.
More to the point the discussion we had revolved around Contemplative Prayer. This type of prayer is interesting to me as it means we don’t talk to God, but Listen for His voice. The application: making contemplative prayer-time not another task to accomplish, but a learned-behavior that is natural where our tasks get God’s prioritization. To be in His presence in such a way that when He asks if we need/want anything, we can’t answer with anything - His presence is enough. Psalm 46:10: “be still and know…” or “cease striving and know”
With the benefits He offers us as a blessing from communing with Him I wonder why we (I) still live life at the frenzied pace that I do? I guess the awareness of this is a start. I heard a triathelete state how he completed so many Ironman’s: “start slow then taper-down”. I think this same approach can be applied to life, especially a life devoted to His plan, purposes, and passion. I need to get simpler with how my busy-ness in business and life gets done. I’m going to attempt integrating this contemplative idea of time with Him into my walk with Him, and I invite you, my dear reader, to do the same. One dear friend and mentor of mine said because of his quiet time seeking to hear the Lord’s voice, when he gets to work, his work is mostly done: All that’s left is to sign his name, maybe dot an i or cross a t. I can’t promise that we’ll all have this kind of blessing result, but God is limitless in His power and wants us to spend time with Him, just like Christ did. I’m looking forward to the greater reward, and knowing it’s not about the reward, but HIM.
