been too long…

Well, had a moment and figured I’d go ahead and peruse my website. Not that i don’t want to post, but golly my life has gotten craze the last few months. Same job, new child (welcome Dexter!), older 1st born (Asher’s 2 and 1/2 now! more terrible than terrific), good-rep lost, new-rep gained (awesome), same baloney, spam, and steaks work-wise. Management, middle-management, just as advertized. Dilbert is spot-on, as is the strip “Retail” to my experience working at the mall some 10 years ago.

Had a pre-marital couple go through pre-marriage counseling with wife and I, they wed in a few weeks. Nice kids. Vitalized harmonious just like Jessica and I, by the assessment tool Prepare/Enrich we utilize as a part of our counsel.

In Choir at church for the Christmas season, most of the songs are ok, if not a bit too “white”. Obviously I attend a mostly Caucasian church and not really bothered by it or the “whiteness” factor, figure I should be blaming myself for liking R&B Gospel acts like Kirk Franklin and Israel Houghton. Also figuring with the 7-weeks or so we had from the get-go to learn and dial in the music we probably couldn’t get as tight as those choirs I enjoy from those artists. Praise God.

Otherstuff? Dunno, fishing for a better line lately, just had another birthday. Low-key as the Dexter-ness is far cuter. What’s 37 anyway? Three years short of the icky 40? 13 short of 50? Big deal! I firmly believe that when you are on-top of the responsibilities you have in your position/place in life, You are really only as old as you think yourself to be, only as old as you want to be in a sense. Age is relative once you hit adult-hood. not saying we don’t have any more opportunities to grow and mature. I saw a bumper sticker the other day, it said: “change is inevitable, Growth is optional” Too true! I’m still trying to figure out how to retire early and get back to playing all the time. Was never good answering the question: “what do you want to be when you grow up?” I always said retired, not fair (yeah right) the older people got to
Any readers left? Am I just writing for myself? I know I don’t at all deserve any who may have once checked in to see what I may have posted. Have been too far gone lately… Give me a comment if you’re out there.

I am so bad at posting, y’all should fire me. Wouldn’t be surprised if only a few o’ my peeps still check to see if I post anymore or have since the last time (march 26?-lame long ago!). I hope to do better with this here on out, don’t need another “beat-down” from my boy Chris, convicting me like he did. Asher not being a potted-plant anymore has me playing “dad” far more often than when I started this bloggity so many moons ago.
Currently swimming in this after a day on 800mg tabs of these since last Thursday afternoon. Took a great nap this afternoon (you know the type you could just keep on sleeping) and wasn’t as tired as I thought when I laid down, therefore I post. (The “Vike” has yet to make me feel super-swimmy….) Why the drugs you ask? Had my wise-teeth pulled, all four at once, and boy… I’ve never missed eating “normal” like this before. It’s worse than being sick when you can’t keep it in you or taste has no meaning. I’ve found my front-teeth are horrible at mashing, and have grown especially sick of yogurt and most other no-chew foods. Today had enchiladas from Garcia’s (not my favorite) and found it supergreat as it wasn’t too much to chew and was better than the endless yogurt/ice-cream/soft-food trip I’ve wanted to get off. Pizza tonight (since it’s been a few days) was a nice change as well, but found the mashing issue not so fun, especially with the crust. Hopefully eating returns soon in a like-normal fashion. I eat like a racehorse and this tooth-less issue has had me pretty bummed.

Riding more lately, or attempting to. Made a friend at church a few weeks back and we’ve ridden together (only once?) and plan on doing the Santa Fe or are just training for the I’ Horse. Anyhoot, it’d be great to see my other blog get updated with ride announcements and be updated as frequently (or more due to rides) than this one.

Now the Vike is causing severe drowse. Going to hit it. Next up, Albq. Wine Fest and the joy of finding a rep for Santa Fe!

Hello Faithful few. Life has been quite busy as of late, good stuff, bad stuff, just busy. Hate to have this blog fall by the wayside. Updates: Cycling not enough, fired and hired 2 reps (of 3) to replace with since the new year already at work, and am working on finding someone for the Upper Central New Mexico territory. Asher is now 2, and expecting another in October. Working out when I can, and hope to get more riding in, a lot more riding in, and considering joining a road-ride club being that I had no real success starting one last summer. Really bummed I haven’t been posting, I do apologize. My prayer is that I’ll be able to either cut-out more time to post, or see that HE wants me to just shutter-er up and closedown.

I’ve been pretty busy lately, and eventually I’ll get it down tight in order to post at least 2 times a week. I’ve been doing double-duty lately, running the sales-route of the rep I had to terminate earlier this month and attempting to take care of the management stuff I’ve been responsible for with the sales manager position. Tough juggling lately, but HE is faithful and I’ll get it down soon (hopefully!). Stoked my new-rep is ready to fly solo, at least most of the route, then I can get back to the life I was dialing in prior to the staff shake-up.

I miss riding. Road, mountain, it doesn’t matter. I haven’t been able to even get my time cut up so I can “fold” in some spinning on my rollers or trainer. This spring I want to be ready for a few centuries, at least finish the Santa Fe, if not do well and be strong for the Albq. Century. Oh well, by God’s grace it’ll get done or won’t, I’m most of all striving to grow closer to Him in all aspects of my life, regardless of anything else. Trying to really live Phil 3:7-8 and be tight with Him (John 15:5). God Bless!

So it’s been a while, and I thought i’d never do it again. Sorry about the lack of posts for the last month or so, got real, real busy with the new job and all. I’ll post some pics soon of the vacation wife, son, and I enjoyed in the tropics soon, as well as update what’s been up since the last post. How time flies when your busy! Had dinner with wife and her dad last night at the St. Clair Bistro, 901 Rio Grande SW, just south of I-40. Worth it, great food, delich wine, live jazz. With Christmas almost upon us, I highly recommend it as a gift-card gift, or a fine date out. ~Ethan

So sorry to not have posted in some time. Have had a tremendous opportunity come my way, and with it busy-ness. My New employer is New Mexico Wineries, the fine producers of an assortment of different labels. I’ll get more into that in a future post, but for now just acknowledge I’m a slacker, and owe you (my patient reader) for your grace when I’ve been too busy to post.

So a friend of mine has been telling about how great his wine is, and eventually I’ll have to actually try it. I don’t like the website too much, (so you’re not getting it here) but if you go down to The St. Clair Bistro on Rio Grande just south of i-40 (next to the St. James tearoom) you can take a “flight” of all the offerings. The winery is down in Deming, down-home New Mexico with the grapes growing over ’round Lordsburg. I’ve eaten at their other bistro down in Mesilla (just SW of Las Cruces), and the food is good so you won’t have issue there. Being that I haven’t been drinking (any liquor) for over a year, if the wine is as good as they say it is, I’ll have to do more than just drink it!

Changes soon?

SO, as I had sorta hinted in the post below (Heelio) changes are afoot that I’m not at liberty to discuss openly just yet. If you’re in the loop via telephone convos lately, you know what’s possibly coming. To fill the space and shift into a direction we (as His children) should more usually take…We should seriously take Jesus as our example in our significant choices or directions we can take. In the Gospel of John, Chapter 5 verses 19-20 let’s look:

“Therefore Jesus answered and was saying to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, ^(A)the Son can do nothing of Himself, unless it is something He sees the Father doing; for whatever the Father does, these things the Son also does in like manner. 20“^(B)For the Father loves the Son, and shows Him all things that He Himself is doing; and the Father will show Him ^(C)greater works than these, so that you will marvel.”

After reading this, how can we make any big decisions (and even some small ones) without seeking God’s input? Nothing else, no other factor (feelings, thinking, circumstances) can take higher precidence. No opinions, or anything else. Seriously seeking His face, and His Kingdom (Matt. 6:33) is the most important step of all. In our pride and arrogance we may temporarily have a glimmer of success, but it’s really flailing, and failure. Looking at another passage in John, this time 10 chapters ahead… Chapter 15 verse 5 has the key:

“I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he ^(A)bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing.”

I’ve posted a pretty huge attack-plan for this Saturday on the Sundoxazo Ciclismo blog that is a “sister-ship” to this one. If you ride and are up for a Mtn ride at the Ski area, HERE is the link to check it out.
