Hanging with my Dad is supergreat and even if Wichita has lame stuff, the time spent is incalculable.
Later, more posts/pics of travel with the kiddo.

So I’ve decided that it’s a good thing, and what God is in and behind, and will work through. Sundoxazo is Greek for “glorifying together”, and Ciclismo is Italian for Cycling. No brainer on that one I’d hope for you. Anyhoot, put the two together and you have the name of the club/gang/crew I’ve started amongst friends that I ride with. The object is to enjoy the company of fellow-believers and to give God the glory He’s due while riding together. I’d kind of think of it as the Road-specific arm of the local MTB group I belong to and ride the dirt with from time to time. Eventually my goal of conquering a century in sub-7 hours will be a reality, but until then I’ll happily ride with those who want to join us. Simple thought-provoking devotionals will always be a part of it, and other stuff to come like riding togs, fundraiser events, charity rides, and even non-cycling events together: Isotopes, BBQ’s, get-togethers, etc. If you’d like info on the next ride, or any other info, give me a reply and I’ll know to list it here when it gets smack’d together.

Here’s the pictures…
Mike D close beside and Mike C far, this was taken on our investigatory ride when the rain paused for a while on Friday afternoon.
As you can see, it was wet and mudville in places…
This is a section of the Fins and Things trail we did on super-wet Saturday
We didn’t do the whole porcupine rim trail due to some of the crew being not experienced enough. Besides the trek back into Moab at the end would have been beyond ability for most of us after the super-long descent. This is down the initial climb we did to the view-spot at the top of the trail: beyond there it’s all down as aforementioned.
One last pic here, from our 1/2 way point where we lunched before down the up portion. It seemed to take over 2 hours to get up to here, and felt like 10 minutes for me to get back down. 2.5 miles, 900 feet. Awesome!

The Baby-Bjorn “snuggly” kicks booty. It is so comfortable that if if not for the weight it manages so efficently, you could almost forget it’s there.
A partial-view from inside the Ceremonial Cave. Worth the ladder-climb!

If you have never been, now’s the time to hike Bandalier Canyon. IT’s abso-fab beautiful, and going to get richer as the leaves turn in the next few weeks.
Just one to whet your appetite, maybe later I’ll post more from the trip.

Last Weekend Jess and I were able to have a date-night! What fun, fun, fun we had without the 4-month-old. Not that my son is the issue, but getting out with the spouse has been hard the last few months, and our marriage needed the “tune-up of togetherness” (ToT) a date-night provides.
The Movie was Monster House. What fun. While the film could have probably been improved upon in a few ways, what I really appreciated was that this film had a story. The story was unpredictable and gave the characters just enough depth to be able to carry you off into their world, and how they deal with the situation this house provides. I was impressed by the work of the voice-talent, especially digging John Heder voicing a character other than Napoleon. the credits are the kind you don’t leave early, just like the X-Men episode 3 currently playing in the dollar theatre (#3 doesn’t end the series just yet…!) Extra-bonus points goes to whoever chose Siouxsie and the Banshees for the end-titles music. They are one my favorite bands from the late 80’s. As far as the film and the rest my critical assessment, go see it for yourself then we’ll talk. And catch it while it’s still in the Movieplex 2000 as it’s better on the biggest screen (a theatre, not your tv via netflix!)
